Best Makeup Brushes

As with any type of painting, the success in executing a good facial makeup lies greatly in the tools used to apply the different colors. Some women are adept at using their bare fingers to apply cosmetics, but the best makeup brushes will certainly deliver the right effects at the right corners.

The basic among the makeup brushes that should be present in every woman's makeup set is the powder brush. It is a full brush and is the largest among the set, designed to evenly apply loose makeup powder on the face. Upward and twirling strokes of this powder brush against the face help to avoid uneven caking of the powder on the skin. A foundation brush has flat but soft bristles and is used to apply cream based or liquid foundation. A soft foundation brush may be naturally made from sable fur or from a smooth, washable synthetic material.

Makeup

The Kabuki brush originated from the Japanese theatres, where performers need a large, thick yet soft brush to apply heavy makeup in a quick time. The traditional Japanese plays showcase the expressive artistry of Japanese kabuki makeup. In the present times, kabuki brushes are gaining a following in parallel with the popularity of the mineral based makeup. This kind of brush has coarse bristles that can easily pick up loose, powdered minerals and that can conveniently set the mineral foundation unto the skin with a buffing action.

Best Makeup Brushes

Concealer brushes are meant solely for concealer application. Since concealers are being used to conceal skin imperfections such as skin discoloration, zits and rough edges, these tools should come in the right form and weight. A tapered square head with flat firm brushes is the appropriate concealer brush to be used under the eye area. Tapered, round brushes on the other hand should be used to cover blemishes in other facial zones. Concealer brushes should have long brushes for flexibility in under the eye makeup application and they should have the right weight to place the right pressure without straining the hands. Dab the dark spot with the concealer and blend well using precise, short strokes.

A perfect blusher blush should have a full head of slightly tapered brushes for even and natural distribution of blush pigments. The small brushes that often comes with the blush are oftentimes too hard bristled that they pick up more pigments than necessary. Naturally blend the blush pigment into the skin tone by upwardly sweeping the blusher blush from the cheek mound up to the hairline.

A medium sized eyeshadow brush is the best to use for a multi purpose function. Use the side part to apply color across the entire eyelid area and the tip edge to define the eyelid crease. Do not forget to blend and sweep to achieve a harmonious skin tone hue. An eyebrow brush will take care of the final touches of defining the brows.

See and feel the difference of having your makeup applied using cosmetic brushes. Look naturally beautiful without the feeling of being too cosmetically made up with the help of the best makeup brushes.

Where Did Makeup Originate? A Glance at the History of Makeup

The origin of make-up dates back to 3100 BC, during the 1st Egyptian Dynasty. Unguent, a substance used to prevent the skin from drying up due to heat and to avoid wrinkles, was extensively used by people of both genders during that era. The women of Egypt were known to apply kohl to their eyes to give them a smoky look. Antimony or soot was usually used to make kohl.

The use of cosmetics and make up was found among Romans also. They grew popular approximately around the middle of 1st century AD. Kohl was now used by Romans too. The cheeks were decorated with rouge. You would be amazed to know that people used to take good care of their teeth along with their skin. For cleaning teeth, Romans used pumice.

\"make Up\"

Henna dyes were used by Persian women for darkening their hair. Pale skin became very popular during the European time. A lot of women used harmful substances to achieve a pale look, which in turn spoiled their skin to a large extent. During the Renaissance period of Italy, women started using lead paint in order to lighten their skin, which in fact proved damaging.

Where Did Makeup Originate? A Glance at the History of Makeup

Due to the damaging effect, makeup was criticised during the time of Elizabeth I. Cosmetics came to be seen as a threat and people started avoiding them. Except for prostitutes who donned themselves with heavy makeup, people usually shied away from it.

The French loved to adorn their lips with red lipsticks, and wore rouge on their cheeks. Though earlier it was repulsed by other countries, eventually it trickled down to other parts of the world also.

A lot of people started using herbal products to make cosmetics and makeup. Herbs, flower extracts, vegetable extracts, strawberries, brandy, spring water etc were widely used. Unfortunately pale complexion was still considered royal and so the efforts of most women were directed towards achieving skin lightness. The use of whiteners and blemish removers proved fatal at times. One of the most lethal products was white lead, which not only caused harm to the skin cells but also led to hair loss and stomach problems.

The irony is that, in spite of knowing the harm they are causing to their body, women continued using dangerous cosmetics like white lead for the face, belladonna for the eyes, and even mercury and nitric acid. Shockingly enough, coal tar was used to dye hair.

Even today a lot of people use harmful cosmetics, though thankfully the focus is shifting towards safer products.

Dramatic Eye Makeup - Top Makeup Techniques For Achieving Dramatic Eyes (Part 2)

#3 - Let's dive into a dramatic eye with even more intensity. This doesn't necessarily mean that it's more complicated or involves heavier makeup application , it just means that there are a couple of extra makeup application steps. Keep in mind that you can still only use 1 main eyeshadow color, possibly a slightly darker or deeper color for this look, so in many ways, your makeup application technique is still straightforward.

Remember that you can modify this dramatic eye makeup technique according to your particular eye shape.

TECHNIQUE: 1- After preparing face and eye area, apply base color eyeshadow in a light neutral color over entire eye area, from upper eyelid to brow bone. This shade creates a balanced eye by evening out skin tone and by creating a perfect working canvas for the next step.

2- Pick a taupe or medium brown shade depending on eye color and skin tone. Apply to outer 2/3 of upper eyelid area and eye crease with a medium eye makeup brush. Sweep this same color under 1/3 of lower eyelid area with smaller makeup brush. BLEND WELL.

3- Apply liquid or gel eyeliner in black to entire upper eyelid area, from inner to outer corner of eye. Extend into a cat eye if desired. Smudge slightly with a sponge tip applicator into 1/3 of outer area into lower lid lash line for more intensity.

4- Apply false eyelashes , making sure that the longer artificial lashes are at outer corners of eyes.

5- Apply 2 coats of black mascara.

6- Apply highlighter to brow bone and dot inner corners of eyes too.

7- For a more sexy look, line inner rims of eyes.

VOILA!

No it is not. How much do you know about the slapstick you paint your face with. Do you know how much to use. Do you know what ingredients are contained in the cosmetics that fill your makeup bag? Makeup For Ugly Women - Secret Makeup & Cosmetic Tips to Make Ugly Women Beautiful

There are a lot of beauty secrets out there that is still just that, "secret." Should these get out then women have no excuse but to better improve the way they look. But because the secrets are kept secret then you have to work with the basics about makeup and use it to your advantage.

Choosing the right cosmetics is your first priority, and then learning how to correctly apply them. Mixing and matching colours is important also. If you manage to find a technique your comfortable with when applying your mascara, lipstick, eye shadow or whatever then half the battle is won. Having the knack regardless of what is involved will save you time, however if it includes makeup then not only can it save you time, but embarrassment too if people see you looking like Coco the Clown.

Getting accustomed to your "proper" beauty products will have you look beautifully glamorous.

How you can make an ugly face pretty. I know I said there is no such thing as ugly but I cannot get this through to them who beg to differ which leaves me no choice but to try and help these so called ugly women be beautiful, using their beauty products right..

Makeup Beauty Tips Below

Beautiful eyes are not an attractive feature but more a precious asset. Aside from your smile it is the eyes first thing people notice. Healthy eyes are beautiful eyes. If you know you have fabulous eyes but lately they look dreary and tired then to add sparkle use chilled eye drops. Eye drops will revitalize the eyes and increase the look of liveliness. Eye lash curlers used on the lashes tend to open the eyes up wide to display stunningly gorgeous eyes. Salt is not good for the eyes, as to much can cause water retention which the outcome is eye puffiness (puffy or look swollen.) Alcohol is a common cause for redness in the eyes. You only have to look at someone slightly inebriated for proof.

Sun glasses should be worn to protect your eyes at all times in the sun. Wear a quality brand name of sunshades that will efficiently filter out the harmful UV rays. Never rub the eyes no matter how tempting it causes fine lines and wrinkles. When applying eye cream to the eyes smooth your finger lightly from your temple to your nose and gently massage into the skin. Eye treatments should contain natural ingredients Remove eye makeup every evening. As we get older the skin underneath the eyes thins and because of this the veins below become more visible hence dark looking circles under the eyes. Allergies can cause nasal inflammation which then increases the amount of pressure on the sinuses; this impedes the blood from draining which gives rise to blood pools in the veins and capillaries underneath the eye, creating blackness (dark under eye circles.)

Make my big nose look smaller

Is your nose long, if so face foundation a shade darker than your skin tone on either side of your nose will help?

If it is wide (roman) then the foundation needs to be smoothed below the nose where the nostrils meet.

Bring more action to your eyes using cosmetics to draw attention away from nose.

Highlight the lips with lip gloss and accentuate the cheek bones with blusher.

Do not wear your hair back if you want your nose to look smaller. Hairstyle tip: a sneaky move for taking attention away from your big nose is to part your hair on the side

Do not cover your face with your hair in hope to conceal your nose, people are not soft they know it is there and will automatically start scrutinizing your face till they find it, and if it is as big as you make out then it will not take them long. The less conspicuous your attempts are to try and hide your nose the better for you to save those blushes

Beauty is about natural and the more natural looking you are the better beautiful you will look.

Makeup Beauty Tips For Lips

For natural looking pinkish lips apply a small amount of beetroot juice before going to sleep.

Lightly rub the lips with lemon juice to avoid darkening of lips.

Treating your lips daily with mint juice or coriander leaf juice will keep them smooth and rosy.

Eat a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables; this is an overall health tip for the body which includes the eyes lips and skin also.

Exfoliate your lips once every 7 days. Wet a "soft" bristle toothbrush and carefully brush the lips

Beverages such as tea and coffee can be the cause of black lips and tobacco products too. To treat, mix lemon and glycerin together and smooth over your lips each evening before bed. Rinse it off in the morning. This will help lighten the lips.

Cosmetics can either make you or break you if you know what I mean, too much makeup can ruin a good look, and if not enough makeup is applied then the good look you do not get.

No matter how pretty and kissable the lips look, they will not look as good or get hooked upon by other lips if those pearly whites are not white.

Dental treatments/surgery is expensive, however no reason to let the teeth rot and decay. Looking after your teeth in the early years may prevent the need for dental treatment in the future. Brush the teeth 3 times a day and floss. Remember, bad breath is a big turn off. No matter how beautiful you are to look at and with all the curves in the right place do not expect any kisses if your breath smells. If you suffer from bad breath speak with your dentist. If your out on a night out and your breath smells of fags or garlic, carry a mini mouthwash spray in your hand bag

Makeup Tutorial: How to Apply Eyeliner

Makeup can make a woman look and feel good, and an eye makeup plays a big part in it. Before explaining how to apply eyeliner I'll first talk about the many types of eyeliners. Then I will explain how to do a cat eye, a smokey eye and a basic eye for daytime.

The Different Types of Liner

Makeup

There are three types of eyeliner: an eyeliner pencil, a liquid liner or a shadow eyeliner.

Makeup Tutorial: How to Apply Eyeliner

• Pencil eyeliner: Pencil eyeliner is the easiest to apply, but they tend to melt and usually won't stay on all day so you will need to set the line with eyeshadow on top of the entire line.

• Liquid or gel eyeliner: This is how you get that dramatic look. Liquid or gel eyeliner makes your eyes pop but if you are a beginner you will need to practice a bit to apply it the right way. Why? well, if you make a mistake you may need to remove it completely.

• Shadow eyeliner: The third type is to use your eyeshadow using a brush or the eyeshadow applicator. The advantage is that you can be more creative with this type of eyelinerbut you probably need to apply several coats to get the color you want.

How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner

Line the eye from the inner corner of the eye in one big sweep. Is that the only way to do it, you ask? Not really. Some people start from the middle out and then finish from the inner corner to the middle. This actually may be easier if you are just starting out. You can play with the thickness of the line to get different effects, especially if you want a more dramatic look! Once you done with the liner apply your mascara.

The Basic Daytime Eye

The thing here is to appear natural so use a brow (deep) instead of black eyeliner. So, use a pencil to trace the upper lashes from the inner corner of the eye, or use an eyeshadow if you will. Now, if you want to make it last longer you should use a liquid liner over it and then you set the line with an eye shadow. Once you've done that you apply an eye pencil or the eye shadow to the lower lashes. When applying to the lower lashes you can use a different color if you want. You apply it to the outside in and stop about half way across. Since we are going for the natural look you can use your fingers to smudge the line you just did at the lower lashes.

The Always popular Smoky Eye

What do you have to keep in mind here? Colors must be blended well and don't overdo with the rest of your makeup. In this kind of makeup, the eyes are the stars.

• Prep the lid with a primer or an eye shadow base (you can even use concealer). That's because you want to keep eyelids oil-free.

• Apply eyeliner from the inner corner of the eye outward. Draw the middle of the line thicker( just a bit ) than the edges.

• Apply a deep color shadow over the eyeliner to set the line.

• Blende the shadow well then follow with the eyeshadow form a dark hue near the lashes to a lighter base color. It's important to remember to keep the dark color below the crease.

• For color on the bottom lashes you'll want to use an eyeliner pencil because you need something easy to smudge. Once the line is drawn, run your finger over it to smudge the line. You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.

• Finish with a mascara.

The Cat Eye

This is a nice look for evening. The key here is to apply a thin line to the inside rims of the lids.

• Apply liquid liner along the upper lash line from corner to corner of eye, extending the line upward at the outer corner of eye. Let liner dry.

• Apply liner only to the outer three quarters of the rim and extend the line upwards at the outer corners.

That's it! Have fun creating different looks and playing with different colors.

Bismuth Oxychloride in Mineral Makeup

Does this scenario sound familiar? You've worn traditional makeup for years with little to no irritation. Upon hearing about the benefits of mineral makeup, you decide to give it a try. After all, it claims to be better for your skin and healthier overall, so what have you got to lose? And if you've never been able to wear traditional makeup without irritation, mineral makeup sounds like the answer you've been looking for. You buy your first jar and begin wearing it immediately.

Except... you're having a reaction you've never had before to makeup. Your skin may be red, irritated, itching, having small bumps or pustules, burning or looking swollen. What is this? How can mineral makeup cause such an extreme reaction?

Makeup

That reaction is likely caused by the ingredient bismuth oxychloride. While bismuth oxychloride is a common ingredient in traditional makeup, as well as mineral makeup, it is used in much higher concentrations in mineral makeup. There are no fillers in mineral makeup like there are in traditional cosmetics (talc, mineral oil, aluminum powder, alcohols and parabens), so the few ingredients left, including bismuth oxychloride, make up more of the recipe.

Bismuth Oxychloride in Mineral Makeup

Why Is Bismuth Oxychloride Used In Makeup?

Is it used in makeup because it gives the makeup a silky feel, good slip (this means it applies well to the skin and doesn't drag or grab on the skin) and good adhesion, which helps it stay on your skin. It feels smooth and silky when rubbed between the fingers. It is often described as a lustrous crystalline powder.

It is not the most expensive ingredient, nor is it the least expensive. It is, however, an industry standard and very common. It also gives a visible sheen to the makeup, so it's good at refracting light and that helps draw attention away from, and camouflage, fine lines, wrinkles and minor discolorations. That's a great selling point for makeup.

What Is Bismuth Oxychloride?

Bismuth oxychloride is an inorganic white pigment, and usually comes in two forms: diamond and pearl finishes. The diamond is shimmery and the pearl is more matte. It's formula is BiOCl.

If you look on the periodic table of elements, you'll notice plain old bismuth at atomic number 83, with the symbol Bi. It is the least toxic of it's periodic table neighbors like lead, tin, antimony and polonium. Bismuth in itself is not safe for use in cosmetics, and must be refined and combined with other elements to produce bismuth oxychloride.

Bismuth occurs naturally, but in very small amounts. Most of the bismuth produced in the USA is as a by-product from refining lead, tin, copper, silver and gold ores.

Once the bismuth has been harvested, it is further refined through several processes to remove dangerous elements like lead. Then it is chlorinated, which gives us bismuth chloride (BiCl3). It still poses a severe risk at this point, smelling of hydrochloric acid. When bismuth chloride is combined with water, it starts to decompose and part of the chlorine is replaced by oxygen from the water. This process is called hydrolysis. The remaining compound is bismuth, chlorine and oxygen; Bismuth oxychloride.

Is It Safe To Use?

Bismuth oxychloride is a product that is FDA approved for use in products for the face, eyes, lips and nails. It is a very common and popular ingredient in both traditional and mineral makeup.

However, skin irritation from bismuth oxychloride is not unusual. According the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for bismuth oxychloride, there is a risk of it being a potential irritant to humans when it comes in contact with the skin or eyes.

It is also imperative that bismuth oxychloride be free from toxins when it hits the market. The FDA does have standards outlining this, and in their Electronic Code of Federal Regulations they dictate the composition must be free of impurities except lead, arsenic, volatile matter and mercury in specific amounts and must be 98% bismuth oxychloride.

Buying bismuth oxychloride from countries with less stringent laws may result in increased health risks, so it is wise for companies to buy from highly regulated countries, like the US and Canada.

Should I Use It?

This is a very personal question to answer. Are you are happy with your current makeup and are suffering no ill effects? Would you feel more comfortable using makeup without it? Do you find that you have to buff minerals with bismuth oxychloride into your pores or they are more obvious, and this is irritating your skin? Have you found using mineral makeup without it causes your skin relief and the reaction clears up?

These are all questions to ask yourself when deciding to purchase a brand with bismuth oxychloride as an ingredient. There are many good products available, offering the same benefits as products with bismuth oxychloride, but without the ingredient itself.

Applying Mime Makeup Correctly

Mime makeup is extremely important to the overall look of a mime. In case you've never seen a street show, a mime is a person that dresses in all black and white. They wear heavy white makeup on their face. Mimes use their faces and their bodies to act out actions or emotions. They do not speak when they're in costume.

The Makeup

Makeup

Mime makeup is extremely important to a mime's costume. A person wouldn't dress like a vampire without putting in fake vampire teeth just like a mime wouldn't dress like a mime without proper makeup. If you want to dress like a mime, the first thing you need to do is get white, water based cake face makeup or clown makeup. Cake makeup can smear more easily than a grease based makeup. Some mimes use grease based makeup because it's thick. One disadvantage to using grease based makeup is that it's hard to make other markings over grease-based paint. You should experiment with both types before making your decision.

Applying Mime Makeup Correctly

Before you put on this makeup, you need to moisturize your face. A moist face will help you spread on your cream more easily. After you moisturize, outline your face with the makeup. Then, put dots of white on various locations within the perimeter and decorate your face by moving from one point to another. Make sure to cover you face with the paint. If you're using a grease based paint, you should put white powder over your face when you're finished filling in your outline. You do not need to do this for a cake based paint.

Next, you're going to need to make your black and red markings. For the black marks that go above your eyes and lips, use an eye pencil or liquid eyeliner. You're going to need to make new eyebrows that go well above your eyes. This will help give you exaggerated expressions. When you're done with your eyes, you'll need to move on to your mouth. Use a red lipstick for your lips.

When the color makeup has dried, powder your face. It's best to use translucent powder. This type of powder will seal your mime makeup without changing your look.

Makeup For Acne - Tips For Concealing Pitted Acne Scars

Acne scars are a lasting reminder of acne, whether recent or from years ago. While there are different surgical procedures for reducing or eliminating these scars, most people rely on some form of concealer makeup to cover them up. Depending on the type of acne scar you want to cover, you will need to use different techniques and makeup.

There are several different types of acne scars, including pitted, raised, and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (which is not technically a scar). The methods discussed in this article address the ways to cover pitted scars, such as icepick, boxcar, or other depressed scars. These types of scars present a challenge to conceal since they are not even with the rest of the skin.

Makeup

In order to best conceal pitted acne scars, you will first need to use a filler to raise the scar as much as possible to the same level as the rest of your skin. Two ways you can do this are with:

Makeup For Acne - Tips For Concealing Pitted Acne Scars

  • Wrinkle fillers. If they can fill wrinkles, then they can do the same with pitted scars. While these are unlikely to raise the scar significantly and are only temporary, they can reduce the amount of concealer you need to fill the scar.
  • Thick, creamy concealers. A thick concealer that is the same color as your skin can be applied with a very small concealer brush. Apply a small amount of concealer to the pitted portion of the scar. Dab and blend carefully so that the concealer stays in the scar and the edges blend with the rest of your skin. A couple good concealers for scars are Kat Von D's Tattoo Concealer and Smashbox High Definition Concealer. Cover FX also has a very wide range of colors for concealing scars on the face or body.

Tips for the best coverage:

  1. Always look for a concealer that is as close to your skin tone as possible. If anything, use a slightly lighter tone, since a depressed scar can cast a slight shadow, making it look darker.
  2. If the scar is discolored, use a corrector first in green (for red scars) or yellow (for bluish scars). Peach colors can also work with scars that have a blue tint. Use concealer after the corrector, if necessary, to even out the color to match the rest of your skin.
  3. If applying foundation, put it on after using any wrinkle filler but before your concealer. If you apply foundation after concealer, you risk wiping off the concealer that you just worked so hard to apply. Also, you may need less concealer after applying foundation.
  4. Always set your concealer with a loose powder. This will set it and keep your makeup from smearing during the day. This applies to both face and body makeup.

While it is possible to conceal your acne scars, it is still best to prevent them in the first place. Any time you get acne, whether it is just one pimple or many, treat it right away and keep your hands away from your face. Be particularly careful of any inflamed areas since these are the blemishes that are most likely to result in scars. There is no real substitute for the advice of a dermatologist when you have moderate to severe acne. However, do not wait until your acne is bad to start treating it.

Foundation Makeup - Should You Use Liquid or Powder?

Foundation makeup is the key to whether your makeup will look good or bad. The application of a foundation will help to smooth out your skin tone, conceal blemishes and give you a more healthy glow. Applying makeup without a foundation base can actually enhance unsightly skin problems, rather than conceal them. But before you head out to the store, here are some basic rules that should be followed when making your product selection.

How Do I Choose A Foundation Makeup Base?

Makeup

First, you need to select the correct color for your skin tone. Often times, people choose foundations that are either too light - making them look pale and washed out - or too dark - which often leaves a line of makeup between the jaw and neck. Generally, you will look like you're wearing a mask. The foundation color that you choose must blend in with your natural skin tone.

Foundation Makeup - Should You Use Liquid or Powder?

Also keep in mind that your skin tone color will change with the seasons. In the summer, you will most likely need a slightly darker foundation color, as your skin will tan somewhat (even if you don't purposely suntan - you still need to go outside sometimes.) In the winter your skin will lighten again back to its original tone and you should use your natural base color foundation makeup.

Deciding Between Liquid and Powder Foundations

The next decision is to determine whether you would prefer powder foundation or liquid foundation makeup. This tends to be more personal choice, although there are pros and cons to both types.

Most women seem to prefer the liquid foundation base. It appears to be quicker and much easier to apply. As well, once blended into the skin, liquid foundation makeup appears more natural and lighter, giving the skin a smooth, even appearance. However, how it is applied can also make a difference. Applying too much will cause streaks and spots that look "heavier" then others on your skin. Using a makeup sponge rather than using a fingers can help a lot with creating a smooth, even appearance. Apply a small amount of liquid foundation at a time and blend in carefully.

Another advantage of a liquid foundation is that it absorbs into the skin rather than sitting on top of it, so you get a more natural skin tone appearance. It also comes in a variety of bases to suit women with dry skin, normal skin, oily skin, combination skin, and sensitive skin types.

Powder foundations are a less popular choice, but can work just as well as liquid foundation makeup. It's easy to apply and there is less blending involved. They are also great for people that have very oily skin, as the powder will soak up the oil and prevent a greasy appearance. You can also carry a compact powder case with you on days when you need to do a slight touch up to your makeup or on days that are hot and humid, to rid your face of shine.

A slight problem with powders, however, is that they can look like they are caked on your face if applied to heavily or after a couple of hours in warm weather. They also tend to rub off on clothes easier since the powder sits on top of your skin.

Another Choice: Liquid-Powder Foundations

Liquid-powder foundation combinations are another choice that is gaining in popularity. The foundation makeup comes in a compact, much like powder bases, but contains a somewhat creamy mixture. Application of this foundation gives a smooth appearance, like a liquid, with the absorption benefits of a powder. However, you have to be careful when applying this type of foundation, since a heavy hand will give you a caked appearance. Like liquids, the key is to apply it lightly and blend well. This combination is not the best for people with dry skin as it will also give you a patchy skin appearance. Choose this type of product if you have normal to oily skin.

If this is the first time you are going to buy a foundation, you should visit a make-up counter that allows you to try out the various products or seek out a professional make-up artist to help you with your selection. For those that have problem skin, such as severe acne breakouts, you should visit a dermatologist first. They can help you with making a wiser choice on the type of foundation makeup would work best, plus provide you with other skin care options to help clear up underlying problems.

Remember, the best makeup techniques start with a good foundation that is appropriate for your skin type and skin tone. Be smart and take the time to research what is out there before spending money on any product. You'll be happy you did.

Makeup Tips For Brown Eyes

Brown eyes come in many different shades so let's look at a kaleidoscope of colors to help us to enhance eye color. Colors opposite each other will be complementary so, will work to brighten each other up. For example: Red and green, orange and blue, purple and yellow. Depending on the shade of brown your eyes are will determine the shades of eye shadow you may use to brighten the brown which, may give you the effect of lightening that you are after, especially if you use colors that shimmer. If your eyes have a yellow tinge, try using an eye shadow with a purple tone.

The next thing you need to consider is the one rule of makeup that will always guide you: Light colors bring out, make larger and highlight. Dark colors recede, minimize or contour. So with this in mind you could work with dark eyeliner and light eye shadow colors to emphasize your dark chocolate eyes with black liner, mascara, a smudge of pale pink eye shadow, and finish with lightly flushed cheeks and make your lips your signature. Create lip focus with a red or berry stain. To pull color focus from your eyes, giving the illusion of lighter eyes, go for a deeper shade of lip color.

Makeup

Dark brown eyes are very versatile when it comes to color accents, and dark brown eyes are such a beautiful feature to have, I would play them up. Compliment your brown eyes with pale pinks, or accent the brown with gold and deep rusts. Have you tried using eyeliner to add definition? One look is to use one sheer glittery eye shadow used all over in combination with a softly smudged liner for a more sophisticated look.

Makeup Tips For Brown Eyes

I would definitely recommend you have a play with colored eyeliners. Dark brown eyes look stunning lined in shades of plum mix with a pale mauve shadow, aubergine mix with a shimmery light pink shadow, raisin mix with a mushroom soft brown shadow. Just remember to combine with a lighter shadow or your eyes may look more dramatic. There are various methods of using eyeliner. Pencils are the most versatile eye-defining tools, as you can start softly, blending each layer back if it starts to become too heavy looking. Pencil can be smudged softly, or add depth under an eye shadow for a muted look, or used alone for strongly defined eyes.

Liquid eyeliner is much more dramatic, and can be applied over top of your eye pencil for added intensity, or used under eye shadow to enhance your eye shape. Both of these techniques ensure longwearing eyeliner.

For the most natural way to line your eyes, use a small, firm brush and apply eye shadow as your eyeliner. Make the most of your dark brown eyes, using soft pinks to really bring them out. Use brown mascara for day, and a black/brown mascara for evening or special occasions. Keep eyeliner to a minimum though. Just use it to softly frame your eyes. Avoid all black as it tends to be too strong. Chocolates, deep plums and charcoals smudged into your lashes will do the trick. You might like to try adding a very subtle contour in a soft mushroom color on your brow bone just above your crease and blend this softly.

On the days you feel like your eyes need a pick-me-up, jazz up your eye make-up a little. Graduating your eye makeup from at your lash line to your brow will give your eyes more depth. Use the darkest shade along your lash line, and merge into lighter shades nearer your brow. Contouring and shading can create the illusion of different eye shapes. By using dark to minimize and light to make larger, you can play with altering the length and size of your eyes. ?

If you just want to keep it simple, sweep a shimmery pastel shadow all over your lid, curl your lashes, apply 2 to 3 coats dark grey charcoal or dark brown mascara, and add a few individual false lashes on the outer corner of your eyes!

Have fun discovering your new colors.

Makeup Tips For Blue Eyes

Makeup tips for blue eyes are pretty straightforward. The trick is to learn which colors look better on blue eyes, and start with those, and then branch out with the colors that you are personally drawn to. Women have a unique ability to choose colors that are complimentary to them. Just because colors are suggested doesn't mean those are the only colors suitable for you to wear.

Colors For Blue Eyes

Makeup

There are some colors that seem to be made for blue eyes. Icy pinks, silver, gold and violet all come to mind. You can expand your selection by also choosing taupe, gray, and other purples, like lavender.

Makeup Tips For Blue Eyes

If you want to add a little "oomph" to your makeup, try a bright blue instead. I know, I know. You've always heard bad things about blue eyeshadow. However, these makeup tips for blue eyes include bright blue eyeshadow because it will make your eyes really stand out. Try it and see what you think.

Also try turquoise, and if your eyes have green in them, mint green is a great choice. Bright pinks and fuchsia are great choices as well. And if you really want to mix it up, try mixing black with another color. It will look striking and it usually best for nightwear.

Application Tips

Now, I wouldn't give you makeup tips for blue eyes without giving you tips to apply them. If you're already comfortable with your application you don't need to read on. But if you think you might like some guidelines to help you, keep reading.

Here's an example of a day look that you could do:

1. Take a silver shadow and apply it from your eyelashes to your eyebrow.

2. Then apply lavender from your eyelashes to just above the crease. Blend it well into the silver so you can't see a distinct line.

3. Then take violet and apply it in a "v" from the middle of your eyelid to the outer corner. Blend very, very well. You want it to look like a gradual change of color, not distinct lines.

4. Line your eyes with charcoal or dark gray eyeliner.

5. Apply mascara.

You can adjust the colors to be icy pink with fuchsia, light and dark turquoise, gold and taupe, gray and bright blue, light blue and bright blue, silver and bright blue, taupe and green, etc. The list goes on and on.

Just play around until you like what you're seeing. You make all the choices and decisions when it comes to your makeup.
These makeup tips for blue eyes should have you seeing clearer.

How to Cover a Tattoo With Makeup

Many people these days have tattoos they wish they didn't. I am one of those people. I got my tattoos when I was only 17. Of course, I thought I knew everything about everything. What I didn't realize was that I would grow tired of my tattoos as I evolved from a rebellious teenager to a responsible wife and mom. So here I am, 30 years old with tattoos I hate. This led me to look for the best ways to remove and conceal my tattoos.

At the present time, I cannot afford laser tattoo removal. It is simply too expensive and there are not any specialists in my area who do it. Therefore, my quest is to try and conceal the tattoos until I can get them permanently removed. If I can't see them and the rest of the world can't see them, I'm happy. The first makeup I ever used to cover a tattoo was Dermablend. I have also tried Tattoo Camo and Colortration. All of these makeups have their own advantages and disadvantages, so you may want to try them and see what works best for your skin.

Makeup

When concealing a tattoo with makeup, it is absolutely crucial to get the right color for your skin. You may need to mix several colors together to get the perfect match. Some makeup actually darkens a bit when it dries, so test the makeup colors wet and dry. The area that you are going to conceal should be clean, dry and free of hair. I use a foundation brush to apply the makeup and blend with my fingers. Apply the makeup over the tattoo and slightly over the edges of the tattoo. Use your fingers or a sponge to blend and feather the edges so they look more natural. You may find that the first coat doesn't cover the tattoo. You may need to use two or three coats to get the coverage you want.

How to Cover a Tattoo With Makeup

It is very important to apply thin coats rather than thick ones, and let each coat dry completely before applying the next one. I have found because of the composition of most tattoo coverup makeup choices out there, drying takes awhile so be patient. After you're happy with the finished product, you need to set the makeup so that it doesn't rub off easily. You can use a translucent setting powder made for body makeup, or try a barrier spray like the one made by Mehron.

No makeup is completely transfer proof. You may find that the makeup does rub off onto your clothes. And it may not stay put in chlorinated water for long periods of time. That does not mean that it is not long wearing -- it is. You should get hours of coverage after an application of body makeup. When you're ready to remove your tattoo cover-up makeup, use a good makeup remover designed for taking off body makeup.

Makeup For Over 40 - Makeup and Beauty Tips For 40 Plus Women to Look in Their Mid Twenties

Our makeup preference changes with our age. We realize the affect of aging while reaching 40. Whenever we review our looks at this point of time we feel disappointed. We try to compare ourselves with our past years but we fail to get back our charm.

Makeup for over 40 women is usually different from woman in her mid twenty. Wrinkles are spotted in the skin due to her mounting age. But nowadays we can find lots of beauty products in the market, which can make you look young and beautiful despite of your age.

Makeup

Here are some make-up tips for 40 plus women

Makeup For Over 40 - Makeup and Beauty Tips For 40 Plus Women to Look in Their Mid Twenties

· Drink More Water: Due to aging our body tends to get drier. So enough intake of water will keep your body hydrated. A well-hydrated body leads to a glowing skin.

· Moisturizing: Always moisturize your skin in order to flaunt a fresh look. Moisturizing keeps your lips wet making you look sexier and attractive. Always choose a moisturizer, which suits your skin type. A wrong type of moisturizer can make your face greasy.

· Avoid Heavy make up: Applying heavy make up at this age can make you look ugly because of your dry skin. Always try to wear lighter and clean makeup, which will make your face look elegant as well as subtle. Use high quality brushes for applying your make up. They make the entire process easy, quicker and effective.

· Hair: Changing the color of hair according to your age is not a bad idea. You can opt for some lighter shades that will compliment the looks of a 40 plus woman.

· Eyes: Curling your eyelashes will make your eyes look bigger and beautiful and then you can apply mascara for that final touch.

Transvestite Makeovers Using Makeup For Male to Female Transformation

Being transgendered in today's world is growing more and more acceptable and for us lucky girls there is a whole new world opening up to us to express our true femininity and sexuality. Part of this is to be able to cross dress in a way which is passable and acceptable to the world we live. Having a new hairdo at your local salon or having a transvestite makeover or buying some great clothes at a local shop or online where the staff understand our needs and are transgender friendly.

Millions of people now like to cross dress and they want to learn how to do it properly so they can step into the other gender role, this includes dressing for the occasion having the skills to create the illusion from a very good male female makeover, or they want to learn voice feminization techniques and all of which helps to allow a smooth transition with very little heartache because we can blend in nicely to our everyday lives as a passable and accepted member of the female gender role. There are also those of us who wish to dress to kill, so to speak, and want to take the extreme makeup and clothes route and this would tend to steer toward the drag makeover person - we all have our special desires when it comes to male to female makeup makeover needs.

Makeup

It is worth noting that clothing that can look great on a woman does NOT always look great on a transgender, transvestite, or cross dresser so please be aware of this and find transvestite clothing that makes you passable as a woman or doesn't make you look to big, wide or tall.

Transvestite Makeovers Using Makeup For Male to Female Transformation

As a man who wished to cross dress as a women and create the ultimate illusion of being a female or if you wish to be a woman (transsexual) then you will need to learn and master the art of a transvestite makeover. The art of the makeup makeover is to learn how to apply makeup, how much to apply and what makeup products to use to best suit the male skin types. Again, all skin types vary so it is a good idea to get some professional advice from a makeup artist or a good makeup makeover book or cross dressing guide. There are a few brilliant makeup guides which have been written by experienced transgender and cross dressers specifically for us and they are worth buying as a good transvestite makeover is the no.1 starting point for being able to pass as a female. Note: There are a few really great makeup products for transgender people, and a lot of transvestites do use a makeup range called 'Dermablend by Vichy' which to me could be classed as a miracle product and one which I would not personally be without.

It is good to understand that learning to cross dress the correct way will take you on an enjoyable and lifelong journey and be one of discovery to your true inner self. However, when you first start out it can be common that you will be nervous or even over keen to dress in some outrageous clothes, shoes and makeup but you should bear in mind that not everyone will accept the way you look, at least not to start with, and you should be prepared for how others will react to you and if you are prepared for this then it will make it much easier to deal with the knock backs - don't let anybody or anything put you off your dreams or ambitions as a transgender person.
